Within the kingdom of Highland, fairies once roamed freely until they were betrayed by humans. With the removal of a fairy's wing, its possessor holds the power to control its very life. Seizing this advantage, humans enslaved the fairies. However, 15-year-old Ann Halford dreams of a future where fairies and humans coexist as equals.
As an aspiring confectioner, Ann yearns to become a Silver Sugar Master, following in the footsteps of her late mother. To achieve this ambitious goal, she embarks on a journey to the capital city of Lewiston, home to the renowned Royal Candy Fair. Yet, in order to attain the prestigious title, Ann's confection, crafted from silver sugar, must earn a royal medal at the event.
To safeguard herself on the perilous path ahead, Ann enlists the aid of Shall Fen Shall, a sharp-tongued warrior fairy. After rescuing him from a cruel fairy trader, Ann makes a peculiar promise to return Shall's wing once they reach the capital, leaving him bewildered. However, as their journey progresses, their time spent together deepens their bond, and they uncover their true desires and secrets.
