In a quaint rural town where youkai, humans, and deities coexist harmoniously, infused with warmth and occasional enigma, unfolds a tale of ordinary yet extraordinary lives.
During one summer, Buchio, a twenty-year-old cat, experiences a sudden evolution into a nekomata. Driven by curiosity about this metamorphosis, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery alongside Yuri, a kitsune undergoing a similar transformation.
Meanwhile, Muu-chan finds himself drawn to observing the crow Tengu, Jirou, as he dutifully fulfills his Tengu responsibilities, leading to newfound perspectives on their relationship. Simultaneously, whispers of an unfortunate Nue begin to circulate, adding a layer of intrigue to the town's dynamics.
