Yoshino Somei would be just another high school student if she weren't the granddaughter of the head of the Somei Group, the largest yakuza organization in the Kansai region. One day, she rushes home after hearing news about the unification of the Kansai and Kanto syndicates, the Somei and Miyama groups. The article mentions that this will lead to a marriage between the leaders' grandchildren—one of whom is Yoshino herself! Despite her attempts to cancel the engagement, she finds herself traveling to Tokyo to meet her fiancé, Kirishima Miyama, who turns out to be surprisingly charming.
During their first encounter, Yoshino becomes caught up in a whirlwind of events, making it impossible to refuse a move to Tokyo. Now, six months later, she lives with the Miyama group. At school, she quickly discovers Kirishima's popularity attracts the ire of his fangirls, leading to bullying. To complicate matters, Kirishima is far from the fairy-tale prince she envisioned; he’s destined to be a yakuza member.
*Raise wa Tanin ga Ii* follows Yoshino as she navigates her new life in Tokyo, fraught with challenges tied to the criminal underworld. Despite her desire to escape it, this isn’t Yoshino’s first encounter with the yakuza.
