Ritsu Iijima, a high school student, lives with his family in an old traditional Japanese house with a spacious garden. His mother, Kinu, runs a tea ceremony class out of their home.
One afternoon, after the lesson ends and the students have all left, Ritsu and Kinu discover a single unfamiliar pair of zōri sandals left behind at the entrance. Though no such “guest” was supposed to have come, their presence seems to linger in the house. Ritsu begins to sense something—a presence dressed in a flower-patterned kimono—throughout the vast, dim rooms.
Ritsu has inherited from his late grandfather the ability to see strange, supernatural things. Watching over him is Seiran, a demon who conceals his true nature, takes the form of Ritsu’s father, and lives with the Iijima family as his guardian. Seiran warns Ritsu to leave that presence alone.
Days pass under an uneasy tension. Then one day, Ritsu’s grandfather appears in a waking dream and shows him the name “Kinu Arakawa.”
But whose name is it…?
Soon, Ritsu’s cousin Tsukasa visits the Iijima household, becoming entangled in the mystery—and a terrifying game of blindfolded tag begins.
