In a remote borderland of the southern Fernark continent lies the bustling but constantly skirmishing Klebon Island, home to five small nations. Among them is the smallest and most peaceful, the Bayle Kingdom—a small village within the borderland called Nicola lives modestly. During her daily task of gathering firewood, she encounters a giant dragon, supposed to reside deep in the mountains.
Just as the village is about to be attacked, a man named Haga, claiming to be a member of the clandestine investigative team "King's Seekers," rushes to the scene. Nicola, who had never known boredom amidst the repetitive tranquility of her daily life, admires Haga and longs to step into the outside world herself. And thus, she comes to know the true nature of this world.
