Ken Usato, a typical high-schooler with average grades and a distaste for extraordinary individuals, undergoes a dramatic change when he befriends the president and vice president of the student council - both immensely popular and exceptional. Their camaraderie takes an unexpected turn when Ken and his newfound friends are summoned to another world, including him by accident.
Feeling disheartened with no apparent means of return, Ken reluctantly embraces his new life in the alternate realm. To his surprise, he discovers a rare talent for healing magic, boosting his self-esteem and drawing the attention of fellow mages. Yet, not all attention proves beneficial, as Ken soon realizes when he attracts the notice of a peculiar and somewhat unhinged fellow practitioner of healing magic.
