What does it mean to yourself? Separate yourself with "your uniqueness"
Saw those words in bold font on a magazine stand at a convenience store
What does it mean to be yourself? When I was a child I didn't care
And got angry when I didn't like how things went, said I liked things if I did
We all change, and the things we want to protect change
From the treasures that weren't acknowledged, to the facade to be acknowledged
As we grow into adults, we grow into creatures with regret
But still, there are things you can see
That's why me being myself and you being yourself
I don't think these are things to aim for in the first place
I'm not you, and you're not me
So we pass by each other, and hold hands, even love can be born there
That's how it is; so what does it mean to be yourself?
We all have irreplaceable things, so an ever-changing life is just fine
[Full Version Continues]
You have to show your individuality; seeing such boring fads
Pulled away like they understood, those bystanders who wish to stay anonymous
Wait a minute, the starry sky is just the same as that day
Even if they're misunderstood, aren't treasures still treasures?
Scared of advancement, and yet hating the unchanging days
Wanting to change, being unable to change, then thinking about the days when we we're young
Feeling like you'll lose sight of the meaning to be yourself
You've been bothered by those bold letters you saw at the convenience store, right?
But still, please note the things you can see
That's why me being myself and you being yourself
I don't think these are things to aim for in the first place
I'm not you, and you're not me
So we pass by each other, and hold hands, even love can be born there
That's how it is; so what does it mean to be yourself?
We all have irreplaceable things, so an ever-changing life is just fine
Because we all have unchanging things.
