For 15-year-old Uka Ishimori, middle school was a nightmare. Known as "Rocky" because of her tendency to freeze up in front of others, she endured constant bullying. Now in high school, she hopes for a fresh start and a chance to reinvent herself. But during her first week, she’s accidentally drenched in juice by her classmate Kai Miura, a flashy guy with lemon-colored hair.
On the surface, Kai seems to have everything Uka lacks—he's popular, confident, and unafraid to speak his mind. Despite their differences, Kai reaches out to her, encouraging her to step out of her shell and offering a helping hand when others turned away.
