Modern-day Earth.
Yoh, a high school student aspiring to become a musician, is troubled by conflict with his disapproving parents and strained relationships within his band. Unsure of his future, he feels stuck.
One day, as Yoh walks through the busy Shibuya crossing, a voice cries out in his mind: “Help me!”
Suddenly, he is enveloped in a white light—
Meanwhile, far away in space on the Wandering Star (Meguri-boshi),
A peace mediation ceremony is about to be held between two warring nations: the Kingdom of Vrede-Sei and the Nation of Goga-A-Slaga, who have long fought over control of the energy source known as Star Blood (Hoshi no Chi).
At that very moment, massive orbital debris begins to fall. Vigo of the Purguard Unit rushes to respond.
In an attempt to help Vigo, Rako—a robot mechanic—launches in a still-under-repair craft. But she quickly finds herself in a critical, life-threatening situation.
After a sudden flash of light, Rako’s heavily damaged craft manages to push the debris into the sea, narrowly averting disaster. But Rako loses consciousness.
While in a coma, Rako meets Yoh within her mind—
What is the true meaning behind their fated encounter?
And what destiny awaits Yoh and Rako, two souls bound as one?
